Here’s what’s up…

We are an Exclusive Men’s Club, founded in 1963. Based in Santa Rosa, Ca., we are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping those with special needs, such as  501c(3) charitable organizations, the well-being of our club’s members, our families and our friends. We have provided and run events helping organizations such as “The Sami Disharoon Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Foundation”. Our next endeavor for 2014/2015 is to assist with funding for an autism wing at the “Becoming Independent” facility, located in Santa Rosa, Ca. We are very excited and humbled to be involved in the process with this local community based service organization.     Here’s a link to BI:

Annual crab feeds, blues music concerts and other similar activities are what we do!

Well, it just doesn’t get better than this…We had our annual Crab Feed Jan. 31st, 2015 for “Becoming Independent”. Our goal was $15,000. We cleared $32,000 after expenses. (not bad for 240 attendees!) The pic below is most everyone involved, Club members and wives, BI staff and BI clients who helped from beginning to end to make this fantastic event memorable…truly an awesome night!  We’d also like to thank the ticket holders for their generosity with raffle, silent auction and beverage purchases in making this a night to remember!!  Funding was directed towards their new Autism Integrated Services (AIS) Tech Room with state-of-the-art Apple products.

IMG_0119groupFTC’s 2016 Crab Feed to benefit Becoming Independent will be held Sat. January 23rd. Our goal is to surpass 2015’s net proceeds. We will update details as they become available.

Our 2016 Benefit Crab Feed for Becoming Independent approached last year’s total. However, with the local crab season in jeopardy, and the date a week earlier, attendance was down a bit. Our crab always comes from Oregon/Washington states, guaranteed toxin-free and is the BEST! (just ask the Crabsters!)  That being said, all in all was a great night.

The net proceeds will help keep the Autism Integrated Services (AIS) Tech Room running. We were privileged to attend the recent Ribbon Cutting ceremonies, and also awarded the annual “Ruth Waite Spirit of Philanthropy Award” for 2015 at the 2016 Board of Directors meeting.  We look forward to next year’s Benefit, which will be held February 4th, 2017.  Here’s a link to AIS…

Club Interests…

We had our 50th anniversary June 15th, 2013!!

As years have passed, we came up with some annual activities that keep us on our aging toes. The Club has some interesting and diversified activities catering to every taste.

We have semi-annual golf tournaments, Fall best-ball and the Spring “Kory Klambake” named on behalf of our member Kris and wife Pam’s son Kory who passed on at age 12 with a brain tumor.

Also are our annual Club trap shoots fittingly called “The Bunny Shoot” (Easter) and the “Mo Morial” Turkey Shoot (Thanksgiving), named after member, the late John “Mo” Meyer. Great time, great turnouts, great prizes (no live bunnies or turkeys harmed).

Other “functions” include street rods, motorcycles, poker, et al. We have other annual events, such as the ”Flat Tire Burnout” and our post-Labor day “Bass Derby”, a camping trip on the Russian River with friends, wives, girlfriends, or mistresses(!)… which involves no fishing and no one under 21…our own “Bohemian Grove/Burning Man”, so make your own assumptions. Also for seven years we sponsored the “Flat Tire Club Street Rod Reunion & Cruise” throughout Sonoma/Napa/Marin counties, a true “rolling” car show.

Our clubhouse, located in Santa Rosa, Ca has some interesting artifacts. We have two vintage race bikes and a custom rigid H-D Shovelhead all hanging from the ceiling, various custom Hot Rods, Harleys, surfboards, antique bar, memorabilia, 50″ flat screen and all the amenities for monthly meetings, BBQ’s, and just hangin’ out. We gotta thank owner Jimmy G. for spoilin’ us!
